After the Feeder/Stock Cow Sale which was held in conjunction with our regular sale (9-21-17) was all done it was surprising to see how strong these feeder cattle were compared to the fat cattle market. As you look through the rest of this report you will realize that there is no way for a profit outcome on these yearling cattle. The calf prices are a little more realistic and about the same price per cwt as a yearling which makes them a far more better gamble. There are far more people with more common sense than me so only time will prove right or wrong. Nobody in the cattle business can afford another year like the last one.
Our next Feeder/Stock cow sale which will be held in conjunction with our Thursday sale is October 5th. It is surprising to me how many early consignors have signed up for this sale. Are you a consignor? If so let me or the office know.
Our next horse sale is Tuesday, October 10th. We will begin the sale at noon with tack. Ride in and lead in horses sell at 1:00. We will finish the sale with loose horses. Would you like us to feature and advertise a horse? If so, contact Steve Edwards at 406 546-6870.
Let Us Take a Look at the Lighter Side...
A clearly inebriated woman, stark naked, jumped into a taxi in New York City and lay down on the back seat. The cab driver, an old Jewish gentleman, opened his eyes wide and stared at the woman. He made no attempt to start the cab.
The woman glared back at him and said, "What's wrong with you, honey? Haven't you ever seen a naked woman before?"
The old Jewish driver answered, "Let me tell you sumsing, lady. I vasn't staring at you like you tink; det vould not be proper.
The drunk woman giggled and responded, "Well, if you're not staring at me, sweetie, what are you doing then?"
He paused a moment, then told her ... "Vell, M'am, I am looking and I am looking, and I am tinking to myself, vair in da heck is dis lady keeping de money to pay for dis ride."
